Glass is a 25-minute grunge pop case study of modern city-living in the imperial core. It grapples with inequity, privilege, patriarchy, class war, individualism vs. collectivism, and bonds with our non-human kin. At its heaviest, you’ll hear hints of 90s grunge greats like Alice in Chains and revivalists like Ovlov and Spirit of the Beehive. At its lightest, Buddie draws inspiration from the Beths, Slow Pulp, and the Weakerthans. Together, they’ve made a grunge pop album all their own, taking hard-to-digest feelings and feeding them through an earworm melody machine.
